Hello, iPhone World

October 1st, 2008 by admin

We have been doing some occasional experimenting with iPhone development few months now, but havn’t shown anything because of the developer NDA. Thankfully, Apple has opened things up somewhat now.

Shown here is one of the first things we were able to load on the actual hardware. It is a simple app that displays a 3D model, a “Hello, World” for OpenGL ES on the iPhone. Putting this together was really enjoyable: Apple has provided great development tools, the API’s are easy to work and well documented, and Apple has done a great job at providing a familiar platform for those with experience developing for OS X.
